![]() ![]() ![]() Potions can really turn the tide in elite or boss fights. But you also don’t want to skip cards too often, as most cards that are offered will be better than the cards in your starter deck. You are able to skip card rewards, you don’t have to take a card every time one is offered. You should try to fight as many elites as you’re able to without dying, since they give relics. I obviously don’t know what you were doing wrong, but I’ll give a few tips that new players commonly get wrong. Everyone is bad at this game when they first start out. Basically it was a floor layout that locks you into a floor 6 fight against Lagavulin as Silent with no means to gain damage dealing cards, as Silent’s starter deck alone cannot kill Lagavulin on A20, it just doesn’t have enough damage to kill it before all of the attacks deal 0 dmg.Īs for you and your friend specifically, you’re just bad at the game. When looking at a player who is playing the same seed over and over to make the perfect play every time, the writer was able to construct a hypothetical run that would literally be impossible to win. But, this write up did speculate that the “perfect” winrate is not much better than what the best players can get (I think it’s something like 90% for watcher and 50-70% for the other 3, but I can’t say for sure). With how many possible permutations there are in a single StS run, I wouldn’t be surprised if humanity as a whole does not have the computational power to determine the winrate of a purely optimal player. The actual math to determine whether a seed is winnable, and expanding that math to include all possible floor layouts, would be absurdly complicated. And iirc they distinguished between 2 types of players: a player that makes the best possible decision every time a choice is offered, and a player that is somehow clairvoyant (or is just able to retry the same seed over and over again). Someone did a write up where they tried to answer that question (I think another comment here linked to it). I’m far from perfect, I have like a 5% winrate or something at A20, but I’m pretty sure I’d be able to get above a 99% winrate at A0.Īt A20 that’s a hard question. I’d imagine that every run on ascension 0 is winnable with perfect play. ![]()
